I fell in Love with Kapoho at first sight. I like my water activities safe. I also get bored easy so a place with a variety of landscapes above and below water is important. Kapoho has it all.
I love it so much that I had to live there someday so yes I have property there and good lord willing, I will be calling it home in the future. This unusually large collection of tidepools and spring fed pools stretches almost a mile down the coast and extend up to 200 yards out into the ocean. However, the feature that makes this site most interesting is the fact that some of the pools are heated -- volcanically heated! Many locals have incorporated some of the smaller pools into their property to use as swimming pools and "hot" tubs. The warm, brackish water is usually very calm, relaxing, and rarely crowded A wide variety of fish are also attracted to the area so snorkeling is easy and fascinating. My sister on her first visit and first dip, said, "Oh my god. It is like living in a aquarium". The fish are fantastic. Especially since the Vacationland area has been under the protection of a marine conservation district, the fish and sea turtles are huge and friendly.
