Well it is getting close and a few things have happened.
I met my Surgeon. She is a tiny and very nice doctor with the ability to listen. YES, finally a Orthopedic surgeon who listens and cares about what the patient wants. Not that some others on the island do not. I just have not met them yet. Now she was firm, and matter of fact about what I need and what she thinks. I realized that when she greeted me with a FIRM handshake. The grip does not match the rest of her. Although that will come in handy when she is crafting her work on me with a hammer, screwdriver, saw, etc. I will be awake during the procedure. That was my request. I have assisted with a lot of these procedures and told her I may come in handy in case she needs me to hold something. I told her I am having a lot of pain. She says that a lot of her patients go home on Tylenol, so I am ready to get this done. She said I will be limited in what I can do for about 3 - 4 weeks. I will also be in the hospital in Waimea for 3 days. I tried to get her to let me go home next day but she said no. Not sure if my partner paid her to keep me or not. He gets a vacation from me so hope he enjoys before I get home cause I have doctors orders to not do anything..got it. Wait on me. All about me. Just kidding. I forgot to ask, How long before I can get in the Ocean? Next time I will take a list. Write and ask anything.. I will answer and would love to talk story. Live Aloha Out There and if you need a Nurse, Realtor, Minister, CPR, or just someone to listen. Hit me up. David / Kawika
